The Steampunk Tarot was the very first RWS-style deck I owned. I use it mostly for shadow work–that is to say, asking introspective questions and interpreting the cards I get for answers. Some of the answers can be quite difficult to grapple with, but the result is ultimately rewarding.
I use a “mixed” style of interpretation for these cards. First, I go with my instinct, what the symbols on the cards mean to me personally. Then I’ll look up what the book says about the cards and weave in anything that feels relevant.
The art is nice and modern, despite the steampunk theme. It’s hung in a dark and sepia mood. I especially like The Star–it’s rare to see her clothed in a deck, and the flowing gown she is wearing definitely suits.
